I know his son is his boss now, but I dont see why the elder Kiffin does'nt just pull him to the side and tell him to chill. Personally, I hope it continues. As much as it is entertaining, he's also alienating himself among his coaching peers and every team they play will be that much more fired up. No way UT sustain that type of emotion from game to game.
I hope there's proof of what he said to the USCe recruit; especially after he went on about it not being his way. Here's to him being a pathological liar on top of everything else. If thinks keep going the way the have been, UT will wish they were the ones that hired Gene Chizik. Maybe they already do. ![]()

To put it in perspective, it really is just a dust up, that we're having a lot of fun with. But a lot of straws have to be piling up on the camel's back. I personally can't wait till they play Florida,Bama,LSU, and now South Carolina. And then You've got the impending NCAA scrutiny in response to all the secondary violatios. What's next ... a strip club sighting ,,, DUI ...wrongful termination lawsuits?
"Like sands through the hourglass..." ...and their fanbase has the chutzpah to criticize Les Miles ??? |

Al Davis might shoot off at the mouth, but I don't think his attorneys would proceed if they didn't have some real evidence or testimony that Kiffen divulged proprietary info on purpose. And to go so far as to warn Tennessee to stand clear... ?

My friend from Alabama says everyone there can't stand Kiffen, but they hated Tennessee already because Fullmer turned them in for recruiting violations. I saw a Florida board where they were calling Kiffen things like Lane snitchen, Line sniffen, and Urban's bitch. So what are we supposed to think. I talked with an Ole Miss alum customer of mine and he thinks Kiffen's a real joke and they're glad to be rid of Orgeron. I'm probably not jumping to conclusions when I think Kiffens got a lot of people thinking he's a real buffoon because that seems to be the prevailing opinion even among people who don't hate UT.
What I'm curious about is what are the higher ups at UT thinking themselves? The way he's apparently treating long term athletic department employees (secretaries and the grad assistants); and the coming NCAA scrutiny concerning all the secondary violations committed by him and his staff. And as the Ole Miss alum told me... Kiffen's dad has a great reputation among coaching circles and everyone's wondering where his dad is in all this. He has been eerily silent. |

Will likely save Lane from being a total train wreck at UT once football has to be played.

They would not have hired Kiffin without his dad being part of the plan.

Well, there has been a lot going on behind the scenes with various influential people making it clear about how Tenn expected their head coach to act. Plus, spring practice is underway so he doesnt have much time to screw up...again. Im told most of his recent interviews have been scripted and screened before he even sits before a reporter. They are trying everything to stop the train wreck and from what I hear it seems to be working. They have moved numerous amounts of personal around within the football operation in an effort to control/monitor/buffer Kiffin. From the sounds of it you may not here much about Kiffin until football season. The Raiders issue is still out there but I dont think you will hear any earth shattering news about that.

Overall, things have calmed down quite a bit. The personnel moves made and the admonishment of Kiffin both public and private seem to have an effect. It also doesnt hurt that he had a pretty successful recruiting effort with Bryce Brown which hurts the Fulmer groups efforts. He is on a short leash though but he may have finally got the message. We'll see...

So it sounds like my prediction of Kiffen becoming UTenn's very own Sarah Palin was dead-on. Let's hope the results are similar.

It shouldn't be long before either ESPN, Fox, CBS, or HBO has the Kiffen Comedy Hour. This will run as a weekly show airing all of Lame Kittens weekly bloopers. Should be rather entertaining. I can't wait, gonna be a must Tivo show.

Kinda of weird but actually funny. There are a few of these on youtube.
Episodes include interviews with Urban, Fulmer, Bryce Brown, and Ashlon Jeffrey.

I think I was reading the article on ESPN.com and Kiffin came off sounding like he was glad they left. Something about, If you're not Tenn then get out. IMO it sounds more like, If you're not Kiffin then get out.

When any coach takes over a troubled program you are going to have a lot of attrition. I dont think this is a big deal for Tenn. Only one or two of those guys were potential starters and many of the others had problems tolerated under Fulmer's regime.
