Those people are deniers, it is indeed a symbol for racism. However, dude aint go no whip in his hand or a noose, so they should really just let it go.
Kids of all colors are getting the same opportunity for a good education there regardless of the mascot.

Ole Miss students decide to replace Colonel Reb



JACKSON, MS (AP) - University of Mississippi students voted Tuesday to start the process of finding a successor to the school's abandoned Colonel Reb mascot.
Colonel Reb was cast off as the on-field mascot in 2003 as the school continued its move away from Old South symbolism. Since then, the teams have been without an on-field mascot.
The vote on Tuesday determined whether the process would begin to find a successor to Colonel Reb, an old Southern gent with a cane and floppy hat. Some of his diehard fans had been campaigning against the move.
Ole Miss senior Jeffery Chase says he liked Colonel Reb, but he understands if some people were uncomfortable with him representing the teams.

Anybody remember seeing any ole miss games this season? Anytime a team member did anything worth a crap, or they thought was worth a crap, they put their hand on their helmet like a shark. This has been in the works apparently for a while now.

It means different things to different people, FUBU is a symbol for racism if you ask me, but you would probably see it differently. That's not a bad thing it's just life. It also doesn't make you a racist if you don't think FUBU is a symbol of racism as I do. I don't think being white and from the south makes you a racist, but you and I would probably disagree on that too.

Maybe they could imitate the Crimson Tide (red algae bloom) and be called the Global Warming instead of Rebels.

Maybe...something that honors Southern food like Grits and Hominy....nah, never mind....(too white).

This why I dont post here as much, stupid shyt like this. I dont give a damn about FUBU, never wore a piece of FUBU clothing. Dont know what that has to do with anything. I have alot of white friends from the south, but I really dont have to prove that to you. Most of the schools I went to all my life were majority white. You can disagree with me on anything, but dont attribute stupid azz thoughts or words to me.

he never said you wore anything. since its a clothing line designed for blacks he used it as an example of what he finds offensive and you may not.

much the same way colonel reb is not offensive to him. turns out to be a good example it seems.

looks like he was trying to have an open discussion while accusing you of nothing.

this is a big example why race can never be dealt with across racial lines.

it always gets sidetracked away from the actual issues.

i did a google image search on BUFU, i don't know if anyone remembers the movie How High with method man and red man, but their little asian friend had his clothing line called BUFU, well anyway this is a picture i found.
