Smith and Brutus both committed to FSU today.
Both are teammates of LBs Jeff Luc and Deon Rodgers.

LSU offered DE Nathan Hughes out of Texas today.
Also, one of the top LB prospects in Texas named LSU the favorite today. Trevon Randle has family in LA and LSU is the team he has followed as a kid. Assuming LSU offers, he should commit on the spot.

Breaux Bridge DT Quentin Thomas has been offered by LSU.
Oh and future 5* or high 4* CB Jabriel Washington said that LSU has made the biggest leap in the running for his commitment.

There is alot of talent in this class ...I believe Erique F will probably play Safety with his size and I believe Lonnie Ballentine has a offer for Safety as well. Really would like us to sure up Alonzo and Jarvis early. I really hope we can pull either Marquise,Teddy B or Braxton Miller but I know it will be very tough. Wonder what position will Nick Shep play I know he plays Safety right now but wonder if he could play DB. Hope our RB class will be Jeremy Hill. Kenny H. and Isaiah. Definitely a class where we should improve in the trenches at Oline and Dline also hope Chavis pulls in some great LB talent.

Franklinton QB Terrance Magee has been offered as a RB. Great athlete who could play a number of positions but a great compliment to Hilliard and Hill.

I think he is the perfect fit because the staff wants to take 3 RBs in 2011 and top guys around the nation will see we have 2 very highly rated RBs already on board and we won't look that attractive playing time wise. Magee fits the mold where he could be used like Shep this year. Put a redshirt on him and see where he has the most success.

So Hillard wont redshirt, thats what I am assuming. Also, I assuming that Calhoun moves to slot WR, which leaves Ford, Ware, Gore, and Ridley all competing for carries in 2011 with 3 possible freshman RBs on the roster. I like the depth but by Wilson's philosophy we will have 1 featured back and all those guys trying to be that guy. How is that going to work out.

I see Gore as a RB/slot WR too who mainly contributes on special teams his 1st year or 2. Blue could grow into a LB but not sure if that will happen or not. Ware can play anywhere because he is a great athlete with great size. Great problem to have.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Top 2011 recruits Army Bowl bound
Assuming that they have invited the top 19 players they can find, then it's pretty impressive that right now its looking like Louisiana has 4 of the top 19 players in the country. This just adds more validity to what everyone already knew. Next years class will be a huge one for the home state. |

Blehn, Just how many offers does a university normally offer per year?? I know they are not all acceptable & that seems to get LSU in trouble sometimes. How Many do you think?

Don't be surprised if LSU lands a commitment or commitments from the 2011 guys today.
![]() If it happens I may be out at a Playoff party so will not be able to post on any details until I get back home.

So...if Terrance Magee projects to be a RB does that end the RB recruitment for 2011. Really would've like to try and pull in Isaiah C. but I guess you go with the closest to a sure thing. With Isaiah maybe a SD annoucement type of player.

I don't like LSU chances with Isaiah with 2 big RB commits on board already and the staff really likes Magee. We should be done at RB for 2011 when he commits.

Well Miles setup a very nice weekend as we can see and it was last minute. All but Corey White of the committed prospects made it in with family to get to know each other and the staff. Basically a mini Junior Day with the top prospects of the state in attendance.
Jarvis Landry was blown away and if anyone gets a chance to read the article on scout it is a must read. Guys like RB Terrance Magee, WR Bradley Sylve, LB Odell Beckman Jr., and DT Quentin Thomas are leaving very close to finishing up their recruitment. Greg Robinson and Alonzo Lewis were traveling home from the Army AA combine and couldn't make it. Rasco was likely to far too come at the last minute. Quote:

I know it's unpopular to toot Miles' horn on TF these days but it seems as if most people don't realize how big a deal this 2011 class is, and how freakish it is that we are locking them up before signing day of the 2010 class.
TX always seems to get their class in early, but it's still after NSD. I have never heard of LSU doing anything like this, and when you consider the depth and quality of this class....I'm just blown away. Refreshing to see that kids of La(and their families) appear to have a far more favorable view of our program than many of the fans.
