Per NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora.
Wow. What a perfect fit. At this stage in his career he would be perfect as Brees's backup. Plus he's a cajun Louisiana Boy. Hope this works out.

Me too, I'm definitely on board with us signing him at a reasonable number.

I'm sure he and his agent are looking for a starting gig....but he likes New Orleans and if he's going to back anyone up....it'd be Drew Brees, IMO. I wouldn't blame him at all if he ended up somewhere like Cleveland where he could start, but I'd like to see him back up Drew Brees at a reasonable price.

If I was his agent I would be trying to get him to go to Zona and throw to Larry Fitzgerald

Count me in the minority here. Such a shame to see a local guy turn into such a tool. I don't want his whining, crying, interception-throwing ass anywhere near the black and gold uniform.

I'm not exaggerating in the least. Ever since he arrived at Carolina, he whines at the refs every single time he gets bumped. He's worse than Vlade Divac.
I saw far too many passes just "thrown up" and the talent of Steve Smith and Mushin Muhammad brought them down. Almost every Carolina fan I know will agree with that assessment, but they didn't care because Steve Smith and Mushin Muhammad kept bringing the down. (Kinda like no Saints fan really cares that the interior D-Line is porous because the Saints won a Superbowl.) That **** catches up with you eventually and it finally did with Jake. I'm sure he's a wonderful person. He seems like his parents did s fine job raising him. His coach reportedly teared up when he was cut, so I imagine the locker room hurt pretty badly when he was let go. I was upset when the Saints let him explore the free agent market instead of locking him down for a couple years because everyone knew that Aaron Brooks was going to fall apart eventually. Haslett didn't want AB looking over his shoulder at Jake, though. His talent is questionable though and the on-field whining is bull****. Just shut up and play. Somewhere else...

I wouldn't mind them drafting Armanti Edwards because even if he doesn't become a qb I think he has the potential and talent to become a great WR and wouldn't mind him in a Saints uniform.

I guess MLU loved Aaron Brooks.

Question is if, God forbid, Drew gets injured does he give us a better shot at coming in and still winning the game than Brunell? In the Carolina game Brunell didn't show squat. He didn't make good decisions and his arm seemed weak. In our offense a QB worth the name should be able to put SOME points on the board. Don't think Arizona would want him. They are looking for someone to compete and possibly beat out Leinert because they don't really trust him and if he does get beat out they will cut him before his salary really escalated next year. If he still wants to start probably Cleveland would be his best bet.

Like Brett Favre?
![]() I'd rather he not throw any picks. Quote:
You really feel that's an accurate judge of Brunell's abilities? I think the position needs to be upgraded. In fact, I wouldn't mind one bit of they invested a high draft pick in Dan LeFevour, but Jake Delhomme isn't a viable alternative for the reasons I listed. At least in bringing Brunell back it's someone that's familiar with the processes and playbook and a guy that the team respects in the locker room.

Jake signed a 2 year deal with Cleveland. Like I figured he still wants a shot at starting. He doesn't have that here. Good luck to him.

Not sure what Cleveland signed him to, but he will make a ton of money with the 12.5 million that Carolina still owes him (guaranteed money).
