Only God could have created Beltran. damn the mets.
"I don't worry about it. I don't think about numbers. But I try to live so that God will be proud of me and allow me to stay healthy and strong." "I like challenges," Beltran said. "It might sound crazy. But I want to be in the Hall of Fame. I know I have a long way to go. But I have good health, and I work hard and God has blessed me. I think God is proud of me." Confidence, not arrogance, has slugger ready for challenge Induction into the Hall of Fame is more of a plan than a dream for Carlos Beltran. PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Carlos Beltran appears so quiet, humble and unassuming. Well, he is low-key and reserved. He hardly is silent, though. His voice already is a familiar sound in the Mets' clubhouse. He is a humble man in many ways, living his life in a manner that, he says, "will make God proud of me." But unassuming? Not necessarily, not when it comes to the game he plays so well. Beltran's skills have bred an appropriate level of baseball immodesty. Some would identify it as confidence, an essential component. In another man, a man with swagger, it might be identified as arrogance. Some people consider that a required ingredient, too. Call it what you will, it allows him to say, "I'd like to be in the Hall of Fame" and not have it sound preposterous. Beltran wants to be elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. But when Beltran, low-key and usually humble, says it, it sounds more like a plan than a fantasy. For now, his head is filled with thoughts of a larger New York City. He doesn't plan to take NYC by storm. "I just want to let the talent God gave me come out," Beltran said. "And the best way is to play relaxed. That's what I did in the postseason. "I prayed to God. I didn't pray to have a good series. That is up to me -- to be prepared. I prayed that I could be relaxed. I felt relaxed when I was in there. People asked me how I could be so calm when I was playing in the big games for the first time. I told them God takes care of that part." full article link below-- http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/a...=.jsp&c_id=mlb

I can't stand when people say they don't care about the #'s.
