He was actually the 1st 2011 prospect to get a verbal offer from LSU. We were recruiting one of his teammates, QB Jake Heaps, in the 2010 class.

Kasen is one of the top WR prospects in the country and I believe he already visited LSU last year but can't remember for sure.

I know this is prob not the best place to put this but how is the law and business schools at LSU? I'm looking to do the joint degree program after undergrad.

I've been told some schools degrees do well in state but out of state its hard to find a job. So does the LSU degree travel well or is what i've been told just not true?

You're hearing rumors about universities. I hire people and the primary criteria are always who the person is and what can they do.

I'd much rather hire a waffle house line cook with some experience over someone with a culinary arts degree from a prestigious school if I thought the line cook would cooperate more.

Personal attributes and accomplishments are more important than prestige.

My advice would be to go where you want to and just be the best you can possibly be in school and let the chips fall where they may. You'll be a success because even degrees from great schools won't make a turd smell like a rose.. You'll shine, I 'm sure, because you'll have accomplished a he!! of a lot more than others who didn't have to overcome what you're overcoming to get there. It sounds like you have a lot more drive and life experience than most other college age kids that I know.

A Harvard educated biologist was just denied tenure at the University of Alabama in Huntsville because she was a bum of a person despite her education...so she blew away the committee that denied her tenure. She killed three people because she had a superiority complex about her educational abilities and didn't like the committee's good and rational judgment about her true abilities.

By the way, I think you should start your own blog about your life's journey...ask JayB about it. And if you don't keep posting your updates here. The mods will move it to the appropriate place if it needs to be moved. Many others who haven't posted on this thread are reading about you here because they're interested. What do the rest of you guys and girls think?

I graduated from MBA school at LSU a couple of years ago and we had a handful involved in the Joint Law/MBA program. The degree does travel well considering LSU has a top 15 MBA school in the country and the LSU law program is not too shabby either. About half or more of my classmates have taken good jobs outside of LA. One of the reasons is that the MBA program is rated in the top 10 in the country in job placement. They did a great job of getting big companies in to talk to us and keeping us up to date on opportunities around the country.

I've thought about doing the blog thing before but I just don't have the time right now. I will prob start one when i'm getting ready to move to Arizona.

The people I know that are in college right now complain about everything and it makes me angry. They just do enough to get by. With me, i'm excited to go to school and I plan on doing great things. People just take advantage of life and don't realize it could be over for them at any second.

Glad to hear the degree travels well.

If only everyone could receive the clarity that people do when they come face-to-face with mortality. I once had a student, a 6th grader, who was told she had only months to live. She chose to go to school as much as she could because she wanted to cherish every normal day she could, days that were considered dull and boring to most kids.

Ultimately, she lived longer than expected, though she did finally die after her 9th grade year. She was an inspiration, an angel.

Yeah I know how it feels for the doctors to tell you, you don't have long. They are not right all the time though and though they are doctors, it is still just a guess. I pushed through with treatment and fought to prove them wrong. I've lived eight months longer then they said I would and i'm improving quite a bit which is even better.

Just got back from the hospital and all i can say is YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! After a year and a half on roller coaster up an downs with chemo I am officially done with it and will start radiation on monday! Gonna do 2-3 sessions a week on a 2-4 week cycle, depends on how I react to it. My latest brain scan showed that its almost completely gone and with radiation they feel we can defeat the rest!

I just found out my oncologist is a huge LSU fan and I wish I knew this before cause it would of made all those other appointments a breeze. I would of actually had something to talk about. Very nice guy and I owe him big time for all the crap he put up with at the beginning. I was a nervous wreck and had millions of questions but he was nice enough to answer them all.

Another bit of great news is my new nurse is extremely hot so radiation may be pretty nice experience after all.

Is there anyway I can change the title of the thread?
