BATON ROUGE -- Four former LSU standouts, including a football player, a golfer and two track athletes, have been elected to the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame, athletics director Skip Bertman announced Tuesday.

Named to the LSU Hall of Fame were former All-Southeastern Conference quarterback Tommy Hodson, SEC champion golfer Eddie Merrins, three-time All-American hurdler Eric Reid and eight-time SEC champion runner Bob Smith.

The four former Tigers will be formally inducted into the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame in the spring on a date to be announced

From the looks of that picture, QB's have come a long way!!! Hodson's arms look like they'll break at the elbow!

He may not have had a great arm, but his passes were quick and on target and he stood tall in the pocket willing to take a hit to make the play. He graduated holding the SEC career passing yardage record and 31 wins. Good numbers in anyone's book.

It's a shame he went to such a bad situation in the pros--he could have made it if in the right situation. His first year at NE was a a total disaster which probably still gives him nightmares.

He still is my favorite player to don the purple and gold. Congrats.
