Terry wrote a biography and tried to change history. He isn't the first. He's kind of sensitive that people think he's dumber than a bag of hammers. He's a millionaire Hall-of-Famer with four Super Bowl rings and doesn't need to prove anything, in my opinion.

Stan Humphries transferred to Northeast after he was dismissed from the team in a argument with his coach over a team rule violation. I think this was just after his freshman year, he could have been great at LSU, but was immature at the time.
Of course, while Bert Jones was a stud pro and college QB, he did platoon for a long time at lsu. Most major college schools didn't pass much back then.

Cholly Mac had a season in the 1960's when his QB went down and he had no backup QB that was ready. He swore after that that he would never be caught with only 1 experienced QB. He consistently played 2 QB's after that and never got caught without a QB again.

When he had a superstar like Bert Jones he maybe should have played him 80-20 instead of 50-50. But Jones was in the game when he needed to be, Coach Mac just wasn't concerned about hurting Berts stats. It surely didn't keep Bert Jones from being a #2 draft pick.

I think any coach would be smart to play his reserve QB at least one series in every game.

Default Bradshaw

Terry Bradshaw was going to LSU because of the pressure of the Golden Boy going to the State School but Terry always wanted to go to La Tech. Terry found out that he had to take a test to get into LSU at that time and LSU was the only school that you had to take a entrance exam to get into in those days. So he went down took the test and failed (on purpose he says) then he was able to go to La Tech where he always wanted to go. Terry Bradshaw has told this story on TV.

Trey Prather never played at LSU he was in Vietnam by his freshman year in College so for someone to say Bradshaw was afraid of going to LSU because Prather was at LSU is way off base. Although from all reports that I have heard Prather was the best of the Three Bradshaw Ferguson being the other 2.

Terry Bradshaw, Joe Ferguson and Robert Parrish all at Woodlawn High School at the same time. WOW

Remember when Nikita Wilson threw the ball down court to John Williams and it went out of bounds giving GA the ball under the goal with 2 seconds left. DUH!!

Cecil the disel was great on the football field. The short time he was there. He was a total failure every where else. He is one very sick person and needs to remain in jail.

Default Cecil the "Diesel"

Yeah, I was in school at LSU during Cecil's time. I definitely never heard anyone attempt to defend him in any way. A girl I went to high school told me a story about him once. She and a couple of friends were hanging out at their apartment one night (no more than 5 girls) probably watching 90210 or something. Cecil and a couple of his "boys" thought they would stop by. Cecil kept saying, "Who wants a piece of the Diesel?" Anyway, they stayed past their welcome and one of the girls went to bed in one of the back bedrooms. Of course, Cecil made his way to the room and started rubbing her thigh until she woke up. That's when they made everyone leave. Shortly after that, Cecil started making news with all of his incidents.

At Woodlawn, Terry Bradshaw played behind Trey Prather and didn't start until his senior year (after Prather had graduated). Bradshaw has said he didn't want to go to LSU and face the prospect of sitting on the bench for three years behind Prather.

That's incorrect. He and Freddie Haynes played QB for the Tigers in the 28-7 loss to Florida in 1966.

Coach McClendon had chosen Haynes as his starter that year because he was a running QB. Prather was a drop-back passing QB.

Coach McClendon brought Prather in to relieve Freddie Haynes when the Tigers could not score against Florida in 1966.

LSU, on the other hand, found the Gators derfense too touch to crack as the Tigers got their lone touchdown after it was obvious Florida was a winner, ahead 28-0. Quarterback Trey Prather, taking over for Fred Haynes passed five yards to halfback Billy Masters for the Tiger TD.

Bradshaw has also said on numerous occasions that he wasn't smart enough to get into LSU.

Thankfully Bert Jones and David Woodley were good North LA. QBs who made the trip to Baton Rouge and stayed.
Ferguson and Jones graduated from high school the same year, and were destined to go to different colleges.

Ferguson ended up at Ar-kansas, and Jones chose LSU, negating any chance LSU had for Ferguson.

Being that Jones was LSU's first consensus All-American QB, I think we got the better deal.

Does anyone remember the all everything WR out of John Ehret in the early 80s that never did squat in college? Tyrone something.

He played 3 years in the NBA and spawned NBA All-Star and 2-time NCAA champion Al Horford. I wasn't alive at the time so I don't know what was involved with is recruitment at LSU but he had a successful enough career at Miami to be a second round pick.

Ryan Perrilloux won the 2007 SECCG. Xavier Carter knelt on the1 yard line ater a kickoff.

Hallman was a better recruiter than Archer. Archer's best season was a 10-1-1 in 1987.

The number of 11 win seasons at LSU in Football can be counted on 1 hand. Miles has 3 of them, Dietzel & Saban the other 2.

TigerLifer, the LB is Tim Pope. You're right, but let me say this in Saban's defense. A friend of mine works for a co. that hired some of the football players last summer.....not to get off the topic but yes they did work. Anyway, he quizzed the players about Saban the team, etc. One question was what is Saban like. The response was all business do it right or you're gone...no second chances. The players said the only exception was Tim Pope...he had like nine lives....before Saban let him go. Why? The players said he was the complete package. Big, fast, strong, hit like a truck, could play the game...nobody liked to have to go against him in practice. Put it this way, they said if Pope would have been straight Bradie would have never moved to ILB, he would have stayed outside and Pope would have patrolled the middle. Saban gave him more than enough rope and he couldn't do anything with it. He was one of the top LBs coming out of Fla but no one would touch him b/c of him being a freak....guess Saban thought he could mold a good person out of crap and get him a good football player in the process.....too bad it didn't work.

Kordell Stewart
Marshall Faulk
Reggie Wayne
Ike Hilliard

Carroll played at USL. Harold, his twin, played at LSU.

1989-1990 Men's Basketball team
I remember being on campus having discussions with friends on that team. I told them that stupid Chris Jackson dribble between the legs and jumper from 23 feet was not going to work in the NCAA playoffs.

The biggest waste of talent with Shaq, Wayne Sims, Vernel Singleton and Stanley Roberts sitting under the basket with nothing to do.

Imagine having recruited these guys and you have someone shooting from 23 feet. I don't know if this is a flop on Chris Jackson or Dale Brown or the rest of the team.
