We feel that the current logo (the sissy tiger that looks like Toonces the Cat) is widely disliked among LSU students, alums, fans, faculty, and any others who take pride in LSU. We are proposing that the current logo be either changed back to the traditional tiger face (as seen on the football helmets) or to any other design, but the fruity-looking kitty cat has got to go! It is a cheesy graphic and is detrimental to our national image. To get the Administration's attention to this issue, our goal is to reach over 10,000 signatures, a steep figure that will need much help in order to achieve it. The first physical signing will take place on Monday the 6th and Tuesday the 7th from 9am to 4pm in Free Speech Alley in front of the Union. Not to be a stick in the mud because I'm not a fan of the logo either. I like the "geaux font" and I don't mind just the Tiger head, but the full logo is waaay tooo busy, but I regress. Doing a petition and signing it is a great move, but if you really want to envoke change at LSU and the Ath. Dept. to get rid of this logo and the $60,000 that was spent on it then you have to STOP buying anything LSU and get everyone else to STOP buying merchandise. Tough to do but it's the only way I think you'll get the results you're looking for. I don't know the figures but just from my own observations since the 2003 NC season, which askews things a bit, I've seen more LSU paraphenalia everywhere. You used to have to have to go to BR or to LSU to get stuff, but now you've got LSU paraphenalia in every gas station, convenience store and place of business in the state pretty much. If they don't they are missing out. Basically, what I'm saying is if you want to have change hit them where it hurts in the pocketbook!

The problem with online petitions is that people don't take them seriously, give phony names, and write stupid comments that really have nothing to do with the petition. It greatly reduces the legitimacy of the petition, I think.

I hate that logo, everything down to the font is ugly.

I put my crude MSPaint skillz to the logo and took out the hurricane part in the background. I think it looks a bit better:

I signed it too. That's one of the ugliest things i've seen in a long time. Doesn't fit the program at all.

I know EXACTLY how you feel

My dad has been talking everyday about how he's gonna go eat some crawfish and I swear he does it just to torture me.

I want crawfish that don't taste like dirt.
