He explains the horror story (for LSU) in Florida losing and Notre Dame beating USC.
It's the one combination we MUST avoid. Love the article. He's pretty funny. Ebay? |

USC will make Notre Dame look like a school of Nuns.

I do, but I think it'll be a shootout. I don't see USC's D shutting down ND's offense, or vice-versa. But in the end, though he has a lot of weapons, I think it's gonna be too much pressure for a freshman QB to handle if ND keeps putting points on the board, even though they are playing at home.

I think it could happen. USC's secondary is weak and Quinn could have a big day. USC has some injuries and Booty has been prone to throw some unadvised passes. If he makes an early mistake or if the team doens't get on top early and keep the crowd in it might happen.
Those two programs hate each other so much, it's kind of like when LSU and Auburn play.......throw out the stats. |

I dunno. I kinda do.
Basically, ND returns the exact team that SHOULD have beaten USC last year. ND is the same team in 2006 that they were in 2005. USC isn't. ...that's just my thinking. Let's just hope that whatever outcome we need to have happen for us to reach a BCS game, happens.

The problem for Notre Dame is that they will be dominated on the line of scrimmage. USC may sport the best front 7 in the country. Mr Quinn will be meeting dirt a few too many times for ND to survive.

On Espn they said we are rooting for Florida St. and then Florida beating Arky. I dont see us getting in with this scenario
The Tigers will pull for the Seminoles to upset SEC East champion Florida on Saturday in Tallahassee, lessening the Gators' appeal to the BCS bowls. Then they'll root for Florida to rebound and beat SEC West champ Arkansas in the league title game Dec. 2, which would almost guarantee LSU as the second SEC choice for a BCS bowl -- if the SEC gets two teams in. And, for good measure, they'll root for a Nevada upset of Boise State on Saturday and a random loss for Louisville and/or West Virginia as well. If some or all of those things comes to pass, LSU has a great chance of finding itself in the Rose Bowl for the first time ever, or the Orange Bowl for the first time in 24 years, or some other elite January locale. Here is the rest. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/colum...pat&id=2674768

That part of the logic is easy to understand. What they don't think far enough ahead on is the fact that Notre Dame may ineed beat USC (if USC comes out flat/sluggish, anything could happen). Then if Boise State beats Nevada (Boise State favored), Louisville wins out (they are favored in their last 2 games) and W. Virginia wins out (they are favored in their last 2 games), then Michigan, Notre Dame, Boise State and W. Virginia get all 4 automatic bids. All 4 at-large bids are taken, automatically. So then what do you tell your kids about the Florida loss to FSU? You tell them they screwed our chances at a Rose Bowl appearance. That's what you tell them. All I have to say is be careful what you wish for, Mr Bertman. Florida needs to sit their happy ass in that #4 spot. Don't you dare move. I just have my doubts they can beat Arkansas. Maybe Arkansas is still kicking themselves about the LSU loss come next Saturday Night and plays like crap. Who knows. |

ND playing teams like army and navy has really prepared them for what there gonna face with USC......NOT! I look for them to get blown out of the water in this one.

My concern for Florida winning out is probably much ado about nothing since I believe Notre Dame will get embarrassed in front of a huge live audience come Saturday night. I would still be slightly concerned UCLA pulls the big upset over an over confident USC bunch the following week. In that case, it won't matter what Florida does, W. Virginia would be #4 in the BCS (at a minimum) and get that automatic bid. Then it's up to the Rose Bowl to choose LSU over Notre Dame, which I gotta believe they would. Otherwise someone will need to blow the Rose Bowl Stadium up.
