It sucks that we won't get to see him shred the SEC next year, but I feel relieved this morning. At least we won't have to constantly be wondering when the hell this was going to happen because deep down, we all knew it was inevitable. And frankly, he's never portrayed himself as someone that I wanted representing LSU anyway.
Have fun playing D-II football, young man. And say hello to Ron Mexico when you two cross paths in the slammer. |

I guess he won't get those four Heismans after all. Perhaps gardning will suit his fancy. Glad it is now final.

I don't know if I would go there. I think he will be more like Randy Moss, big ego, blew his opportunity at a big time program. Succeeded at D-II and has done pretty well for himself.

So we will have Lee, Hatch, and I guess Jefferson plays as a true freshman?

It looks easy from the outside, but doing the right thing when you're young isn't all that easy. I know I wish I could take back some of the things I did when I was younger. I hope RP gets his stuff together, but I feel good about how Miles handled this situation.

He will surely get picked up by some small school, that will look the other way regarding his transgressions, and most likely still get into the NFL. Al la Randy Moss and Cecil Collins.
Once he makes the NFL, as long as he is not actually in jail, he will get to play. Look at Pac-Man Jones. I bet Mike Vick is right back under center when he gets out. Hell, Ray Louis was involved with murder! I could go on but you get the point. RP's football opportunities are far from over. |

![]() As for RP as been said already here it is done so lets move on and be happy that we can finally celebrate our NC without the drama and media circus RP kept us in.

This is fantastic news. After about 2 weeks of this things will simmer down and we can get on to being the defending National Champions. This is a damn strong football team no matter who is driving the car.
RP - the entire rest of your life is at a crossroads right now. Right now. You can pick yourself up, dust yourself off and make the most of it or you can be Quincy Carter. Figure it out.

So many questions...and comments, so little time.
Mr. Heisman's dismissal was about 7 months overdue, but many a Dandyhomer made excuses for him at every turn all because they think he is THE only answer for a possible conference/national title. The homers ripped alot folks on here (check threads like big girls yourself) for wanting RP gone last November. Winning the right way is more important than winning it all with guys like RP, but homers want it all while thinking we, LSU, would never be like the UT's and Miami's. I'm glad to see Miles not give in to Brown's or Coker's win at all cost attitude and LSU will be better off for it despite what Dandyhomers think. Nothing against Dandydon. He just thinks LSU will always be better next year, or week, no matter what the situation is. His glass is always full until the glass actually breaks and he realizes there was no H2O in there to begin with. Sometimes just keeping it real is the more logical way to go than always rah-rah-ing everything. |

but most here also had concerns about his judgement, and was cutiously optimistic he would pull it together. you on the other hand, are praying that the team goes 6-6 so you can come back here and say "I told you so". By the way, how is that "Miles will never win a title" prediction of yours coming along? ....chirping Enjoy the misery that a successful Les Miles seems to bring to you. We'll be fine without him. Marcus freaking Randall came one Arkansas prayer from leading this team to the SEC CG in '02 and one missed PAT from doing it in '04.

Like your analogy of cancer though.... It is unfortunate and sad that this is happening; but the team can only take so much of the back and forth drama before the discipline issue start ripping the team apart. I will still be thankful for his contributions to the team last year. |

Being a homer has had nothing to do with the disagreements about RP. Some folks wanted him gone, some were far more forgiving. Homers on both sides of the argument. (A homer is a fan who cannot inject moderation and reason into their fandom. Plenty on both sides met that description.) Dandy Don, for all his journalistic faults, is a class act. His posts are positive and require subtle reading to tell when he's disappointed or down on a player. I can see how in the current Jerry Springer world of media madness that might be confusing. Thankfully, Mr. Don is above your petty cheapshot. You can always just ignore his FREE and GROUNDBREAKING sports blog if it makes you feel better. Keeping it real? TigerDroppings called - you're late for recess. ![]()

ESPNSources: Dismissed LSU QB Perrilloux failed drug test If true, he has sabotaged his potential professional career. Even if he goes to McNeese or Grambling and gets drafted ala Craig Nall, NFL General Managers are much less forgiving about drug use and troublemaking since Michael Vick's and Ricky Williams scandals. No one is going to risk a high pick and first-round money on a gamble like Perrilloux. If he has any sense at all, he will find a Division II school in Minnesota or something -- just as far from his brother and the thug crowd of homies that he runs around with. Just like Vick he let his ghetto posse be more important than his academic and professional career.

Maybe I'm off base but I like the way Les Miles handled a very difficult situation. I believe he realized that most of RP's problems were a result of immaturity, lack of adult guidance, and star syndrome.
CLM gave him an opportunity to clean up his act and released him when he failed to do it. Some may say it was overdue but his previous issues didn't singularly warrant his removal. Now in totality, they do. It's a shame to see ANY kid waste an opportunity especially one who possesses so much talent. Hopefully he'll get his act together someday. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't believe CLM tolerated RP more than other players due to his position and potential. Some people still don't like the fact we hired CLM so I'm sure they'll use this in an attempt to somehow justify their assertions. This is still a great program with awesome talent. Today the team's talent may be slightly weaker but respect for class and integrity just rose up the charts. Not to mention any other programs but I can think of a few that probably would have covered this incident up.
