We were extremely unlucky. Getting stuck with the best team in the Nation in the 2nd round.

Yeah, I'm glad they gave LSU props. LSU was by far the only team that gave UNC a run for its money in the tourney. Otherwise, UNC had the easiest time a team could have on their way to the championship. Definitely one of the top five ever tourney teams, especially by setting two championship game records (most points in a half, largest lead at halftime) so far. This team is on fire.

Well according to this Nola.com article, LSU moved up 3 spots (from20 to 17) in the final ESPN/USA Today poll based on their giving UNC a go in their second round loss.

In hindsight, winning the SEC with 4 games to go was the worst thing that could have happened to our seeding. Losing 3 of those 4 killed us, and being SEC champs wasn't going to get any play from a selection committee who viewed the league as lower than a snake. This has got to be the lowest a major conference champion has ever been seeded. So a measure of blame does go to the selection committee, but LSU definitely didn't help itself with its performance down the stretch.
