Shomari Clemons is now off the LSU football team

He is transferring according to sources at LSU.

That makes 6 players that were casualties of attrition since the bowl game.

Shomari Clemons
Phelon Jones
Earnest McCoy
Ricky Dixon
Kentravis Aubrey
Andrew Crutchfield

I would expect at least one more before the season starts.

We are already thin at LB, I dont see this as a good thing.

Dont quote me on this but I think we are at 88 now but that includes Jared Mitchell. So we need to cut 2 more if everyone qualifies. I am hearing it is possible that Tahj Jones will not make it in and there is no word on Loston but he has time to take the ACT again if he needs to.

John Williams is also considering a transfer but it is not set in stone yet. He is considering Georgia Tech and Northwestern St.

I was impressed with Clemons in the Tx. vs. La. high school all star game a few years back and looked forward to seeing him play for the purple and gold, but alas it was not to be... He and Pep Livingston were the two standouts on defense for La.

Well, this probably means that Baker and Minter are making big strides and Clemons sees the writing on the wall.

Clemons was behind Coleman and Ace Foyil at SLB during the Spring game. That should tell you something. He would have been 7th or 8th on the LB depth chart overall.

Agreed. Best for everyone involved, probably. Last thing the team needs is a frustrated LB - the last one we had was beating up cars...

I wish him well! Somebody will give him a chance to play.

JMitch is done, so that makes it 87. It will work itself out. Someone will pick up a TOPS scholly and surrender their FB scholly.

Hopefully Clemons lands somewheres where he can play just not in our confrence, I didn't know jared mitchell isn't playing football anymore, though i like our recieving corp with LaFell, Tolliver, C Mitchell, Ruben Randle, Chris Tolliver.
