1958
2003 2007 The NCs. After that, the Arnsparger resurgence, and the falloff thereafter. You said Top 5 moments, not top 5 GOOD moments.

One of the greatest are moments i have seen personally, it just means so much more.
1) being there to see LSU's epic win over Florida completing 4/4 on fourth downs 2) skipping night class and driving 5 hours to see LSU wipe the floor with MSU 45-0 in a game where it stormed the entire time, driving back right after the game and getting back at 6am, waking up and going to class at 9am 3) 03 national championship 4) LSUs come back win in game 1 of '09 CWS 5) screaming myself hoarse watching the blue grass miracle live |

Championships are too easy to list as 1 and 2.
so top 5 (non titles) of my lifetime in no particular order

I don't know about top 5 in History but 5 of my favs are:
1. Rohan and Josh Reed show against Bama 2. Rohan to Royal in OT to beat UT 3. 97 UF game 4. Arizona State comeback 5. Mauck to Skyler vs UGA One of my favorite plays in modern history is when Michael Clayton knocked the Auburn returner out cold on the kickoff team. Wish I had that one saved on the puter.

1. "The Run." Explanation not required.
2. Tommy Hodson's pass to Eddie Fuller in the 1988 "Earthquake Game." 3. Marcus Randall's pass to Devery Henderson against Kentucky in the 2002 "Bluegrass Miracle" game. 4. Matt Flynn's last second pass to Demetrius Byrd in the 2007 LSU-Auburn game. LSU went on to win the National Championship 5. Bert Jones' game-winning pass to Brad Davis with no time left in the 1972 Ole Miss game. It produced perhaps the longest sustained cheer in Tiger Stadium history. The game was controversial because Ole Miss fans claimed the clock ran out 4 seconds earlier. However, the official clock showed one second left. The game inspired a sign at the Louisiana-Mississippi state line that read "You are now entering Louisiana. Set your clocks back 4 seconds." Final Score: LSU - 17; Ole Miss - 16. NOTE: I define "moment" as a single play rather than a series of plays or an entire game.

1. '07 BCS Championship game/win
2. '03 BCS Championship game/win 3. '07 4th Quarter vs Florida 4. '03 SEC Championship game- that win propelled us into BCS Title game 5. '01 SEC Championship game There are lots of honorable mentions: Blue Grass Miracle, '06 Sugar Bowl blowout of Notre Dame (gave us momentum for '07), Zenon's INT for a TD in the '07 SEC Championship game, and of course- the punt return for a TD by Billy Cannon in 1958. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I agree with most already documented.
(On a personal note, the '06 game against Ole Miss ranks right up there for me because is was my son's first game in Tiger Stadium. The tradition continues.)

Earlier today, I was thinking of the blocked kicked against Alabama last season. That just goes against all that is good in the world that a play as great as that didn't result in Tiger victory in overtime. Oh well... here's to beating Bama for the next 40 years straight!

My top 5 that I have seen in person:
1. 2003 National Championship victory over OU (Best moment for me was opening play, JV almost taking it to the house to start game) 2. 2007 Nat Champ over OSU (Best moment for me was Flynn's first TD, made me realize we were settled down) 3. Katrina game, at ASU, Jamarcus does not get near enough credit for one of THE greatest game winning passes I have ever seen. 4. 2006 at UT, Jamarcuss game winner at the end of the 4th qtr to beat Tennessee, while I was screaming in a sea of silent Orange. 5. 2003 Watching the Tigers walk on the field here in Tucson and listening to all of my buddies complaining about how big we look, and I then point out that #4 is our freshman QB.....they almost left the stadium. (Completely selfish and only I care about it.)

When San Jose State came out here several years ago to play in Tiger Stadium they mentioned after the game that they had been accustomed to playing western teams where players were either big and strong or small and fast. They were impressed by the LSU team all being big, strong and fast--especially the linemen. There were no lumbering linemen at all, they were beating San Jose backs to the corner all night.
