i dont like the helmet color. that is nd's gold. not ours. i am just traditional all the way when it comes to our uni's and those are bad. and i dont like the mojo of changing to a gold that isnt even our gold. ick!

These have to be a hoax. Too many white pants. Why would they go all out on TCU's pants pattern, and just go white on all the others. Very doubtful this is the real thing. But I guess we'll see.

My guess is that the real thing will be much, much worse.

EDIT: on second thought, and after comparing the "reveal" to the website, maybe not....

found some black and white pics from the '49 game vs Tulane.
looks like we wore that shade of gold (Notre Dame like) with no logos.

i don't own a scanner, so best I can do is take a pic of it with my phone (flash kinda creates a glare).

'51 looks like there might be numbers on sides (like the Billy Cannon years).

Wouldn't surprise me to see numerals on the helmets. That's pretty much what I figured would happen. I'd prefer these in our normal shade of Athletic Gold, but they could be worse I guess. They sure don't look like LSU uniforms, but at least they kind of look like football uniforms. Can't say the same for TCU.

You folks take this uniform thing WAAAY too seriously IMO.

What THEY wear or what WE wear doesn't have a damn thing with how they play.

Hell, I remember a time in the 60's and 70's that the purple jerseys were supposedly bad luck.

We wore 'em once every 3-4 years, basically when we were forced into it on road.

Which left us with ONE uniform. Pretty silly if you axe me.

IF these reflect throwback late 40's unis for one game, I say it's a good thing.

Same thing as going back to our current helmets with the numbers on the side to me.

Respect for our history is way cool.

Hell. maybe we can even get Y.A. back into one of those gold helmets.

PS I think we could still whip the Hogs even in practice pads.

PSS God help all of you superstitious people if we ever have to build a new stadium.
