I'm not the only one clamoring for an asterisk and the fact that the Longhorns would have dismantled Alabama last night:

Yeah, I thought Texas was much scarier last year and felt they should have went to the title game. OU was good too though.

But I disagree about if Bama had a passing game, etc. McElroy killed Florida with his passing and he is a huge reason they beat Auburn as well. He's an average QB like most teams have, but he didn't turn the ball over - and that's huge. Texas had a great pass rush last night and that would have affected any QB. You have to give Texas some credit there. The reason OU didn't have Bradford the whole game against Texas was because the pass rush got to him and injured him.

Bama's QB played with cracked ribs, never really showed up either.

Injuries are part of it and you got with what you got, that's the team for all practical purposes. With as much scrutiny as LSU's two championships came under I'm going with giving Bama their due.

Not many, including myself, thought they'd be in the mix for all the marbles after only three years. Saban winning a title with two different programs, within a 10 year period with an NFL stint in there is no accident. I need to go wash my mouth out now.

Yes, he is in the Wes Welker mold. So he may do weel in the NFL. We'll have to wait and see. As I admitted, he does have great hands.

"It needs an asterisk." Stop, just stop. McCoy got injured, it happens. Players get injured every single season. Alabama won, get over it.

I guess Texas' win over Oklahoma deserves an asterisk because Sam Bradford went down early in the game.

I guess Florida's 2006 National Title deserves an asterisk because Ted Ginn Jr. went down after the first touchdown.

that reminds me....

there was a framed pic in the silent auction at the bash i reallly wanted. but couldnt afford.

it was a clear as day pic of patrick peterson the moment the got possession of the ball he intercepted, and it clearly showed both feet in bounds. easily in bounds. and it was signed by les miles.

maybe clm was told he couldnt talk about it, but that signed pic for auction i saw as a big "eff you" to slive.

i really should have come up with the $ and just bought that sucker. that would have fallen into the "its better to ask forgiveness than it is for permission" things.
