Alabama's will be marked with as asterisk by the NCAA due to Colt McCoy going out of the game in the first 3 minutes of the game.

It should have an * after it regardless due to the officiating help it took to for them to get there.

Yes, it sucked that McCoy went out so early. And the refs sucked really hard... The shovel pass play was really the difference in the game. But Texas did a great job to make it a great game in the 4th quarter.
However, as I said in December, Texas never faced any combo even close to Ingram/Richardson and they ran all over them. Texas did do a good job at holding them though in the 3rd quarter and were much better in the 2nd half. Saban's coaching sucked tonight and they still won. Besides being a great coach, he's a lucky S.O.B. too. But that miserable prick couldn't even enjoy getting doused with the Gatorade. And did they really need that last TD when they could have kneeled the ball and it would have been game over? Was he trying to legitimize the win or something? Their QB sucked too and Texas' pass rush was the best Bama faced all year. But Bama has a great team and unfortunately for LSU, that train ain't stopping anytime soon. That's as good as an RB combo that I've seen. They are so good that Julio Jones was just an afterthought...and that's hard to believe. They're the easy favorites next year...but it's always a little harder to motivate a team that just won it all. Anyway, our coaches better wake up and bring players like Shep and RR to the front or they're gonna be riding another train. Here's hoping they'll see the light! |

Not only that, but they should have an asterisk for only being called for less than 10 holding penalties all YEAR long. Some may say sour grapes and they may be right, but that's shady right there.

Yes, it sucks, but injuries happen. That post-game interview with McCoy got to me, it was very sad. You have to overcome injuries, and Texas almost did. |

Just after the Ut interception on the fake punt, the announcers noted that this was Bama's first turnover in over 300-some-odd plays.
My thoughts immediately turned Peterson's interception... oh, wait. |

No asterisk at all for McCoy being out...unless they get an asterisk for knocking Jefferson (AND Scott) out of the LSU/Bama game.
By the way, I bet they lead the NCAA in knocking people out of games for a no cheap shot team. I wonder if they have statistics on that? |

Agreed. No asterisk. Its wishful thinking on our part and something I can use with my gump co-workers but they will just throw out the 03 USC shiat anyway so I probably wont go there. In the end they got the crystal.
What I hate about it is they appear loaded again next year. When they showed the starting lineups almost all their important players where sophs and juniors. They will just reload. Thank god I am traveling a bunch over the next few weeks. I couldnt stomach all the knob slobbering going on around the office.

I know it was a tough season folks.
But we should be glad we're part of something truly magical. SEC beast roars to fourth straight title - College Football - Rivals.com We'll be back, and we will compete with the rest of the best. This is the Golden Age of the SEC. |

"SEC has won 6 of the 12 BCS Championships"...
*Yet ESPN will still say the Pac-1 is the best conference. *Yet USC just won their 12th straight National Title. *Yet nobody should've watched because the Rose Bowl is all that matters. *Yet speed is national not just in the south. *Yet the SEC is over-rated. *Yet lowly Notre Dame still has their own network. *Yet Petey Carroll is the greatest coach ever. *etc *etc *etc ![]()

I would've been interested to see if UT could've pulled it off with McCoy in the lineup. It's also interesting that it seems all the big programs can find themselves in heaps of QB trouble if their starter goes down.
Texas really only had a true freshman (albeit one that looks really talented, but very, very green) to back up their senior QB? We need to gain some perspective when we criticize the mess that has been our QB situation the last two years. Anyway, congrats to Alabama for an undefeated season. We came closer to beating them than Texas did--and we also lost our QB, best RB, and had our best defender out for a couple of key plays. The SEC is truly asserting it's dominance. Makes you wonder what would've happened if AU, instead of OU, had gotten the NCG nod after the '04 season. |

Mack Brown seems to be getting a pass for giving UT a touchdown right before the half. That was your game right there.
Miles would be hanging in effigy all over La for that.

Roll Tide!!!!!! to all in Tigerland.
I really hate the end is here but I am looking forward to next season. I really think with the right attitude Bama can repeat. Offense is coming back almost in it's entirety. What we lose on defense will be made up by even bigger and faster players. Did you hear the SEC chant? See I told Purple Nation they were invested.

And cheating officials against us, and horrible officiating in the Championship game.

Texas blew it, plain and simple. Boneheaded move in not just going into the half down 11. Then the receivers dropping balls, especially the sure touchdown that one guy dropped. Then in the 2nd half apparently some SEC officials drugged the real officials and took their place. Some really criminal calls and non calls in the 2nd half by the zebras.

I don't think you'll be allowed to bring your local replay booth official with you to Baton Rouge next season.
![]() Hopefully the game will be called fair next year. You'll definitely have a top team again next year but this year's team was not a dominant team and needed a lot of help (missed FGs, bad calls, good fortune) to get to the top. As bad as LSU's QB situation was in 2008 and as horrible as our offense was this year...LSU still had a great opportunity to win both games. If we can get our act together, it should be a great matchup next year. I just hope the game will be decided by Tigers and Elephants...NOT Zebras!!!
