Having attended ALOT of Wvu games in the past 3 years, this is the game I want to see. However, no Pat White may equal no WVU win. What do you guys think, they got a chance in DeathValley? I'll be there to see for myself.

I'm not going to say they don't stand a chance but I would be stunned if they left Death Valley with a victory. LSU has better athletes, not real sure which direction Bill Stewart is going to take this team 2 years removed from Rich Rod, but i expect LSU to come away with a victory.

WVU still has pretty good respect from most teams. They aren't too far off from past years of great success so a win for us will be great in terms of seeing what kinda team we have and in national perception.

Its going to be tough for them since they are breaking in a new quarterback. That and Latwan Anderson wont be on their team.

If LaTech can hang with this team through 3 quarters in Tiger Stadium, then anything is possible.

WVU SHOULDN'T be able to beat LSU in Death Valley. The Tigers are far more stacked with talent.
However...next year is one of those seasons with tons of questions in the beginning, the chief one being: Will the Offense put more points (than last year) on the board and run lots of time off the board? If yes and yes, then we roll.

Noel Devine will always be a load, but LSU should be able to pound them up front on both ends. I'd think the Vegas spread in that one will probably be -11 or so for LSU and I can see it ending up about a 28-17 or so game.

Is senior Noel Devine the best player that will on the field when we play WVU? At least when it comes to who will go the highest in the 2011 Draft?
He rushed for 1,465 yards as a junior last season (6.08 YPC) and 1,289 yards (6.26 YPC) the season before that.

Dude might be a Top 10 pick, if not higher. Hands-down the best CB in America (and was last year, too, despite the SEC slighting him). He's only a junior, but this is his last year at LSU barring injury or a terrible season. Devine is a great athlete, but size and character issues will always hold him back. He will score negative on the Wonderlic.

Yesterday, Athlon Sports reported this regarding 5-star recruit Latwan Anderson:
He is officially committed but not signed by WVU. USC was in the mix but a visit never materialized post-Signing Day. He is rumored to be considering Miami as well. WVU is still in the lead, but he has yet to make his official decision.

I think WVU can put up a good fight, but I would be surprised if they beat us at home. We have more talent, a tough home crowd, and we compete in a tougher conference than they do. The key wil be to put them away early and never let up; I've had enough of screwing around until midway trough the third quarter.

That team won't be playing.

We will be facing a very good program. Its not the W Va of a few years ago that were better and more diverse. It all starts and ends with which LSU teams shows up. If Miles and staff do their job, the players do theirs LSU should win this one fairly convincingly. Too much talent as well as talented depth. If LSU is focused then I have no doubts LSU wins this but if we LSU play poorly W Va is prime for the possible upset. W Va and North Carolina arent our usual cupcake non-conference games. They arent powers, but very solid programs. We will know a lot about LSU early on. The team could prove its back or those games could be the start to a dismal season. Im already excited for the start of the season and staying positive with high expectations.
LSU must contain Divine and White or whoever is the QB. The OL and DLs are huge in this one. |

of course, way more than a snowball's chance.

A snowball where? In hell? In Nome? This I need to know in order to assess the probabilities. Red would say that a snowball in hell has a better chance than a snowball at the North Pole.

Any team can beat any team at any given time. This is why they actually play the games.
Did anyone think Troy had a snowball's chance in hell of getting a 28 point lead on us at home in 08? Apparently, at the least, Troy did. Did anyone think LSU had a snowball's chance in hell at that point of coming back and beating them? At the very least, LSU did. Does WVU have a chance? Of course they do.

With Bill Stewart at the helm, they stand no chance in hell to win. That guys stinks as a head coach. It will be a BLOW OUT.
He's a nice guy, but I think he has a better future as a kindergarten teacher than a major program head coach. Good pickup for LSU.

Global warming. There is a hell, but it's been
frozen over for about a month.

Will WVU start off in the Top 25 next season? I remember after Noel Divine announced he was returning, I read two guys on Rivals.com saying they would put WVU in the preseason Top 25 for 2010.
WVU has finished in the final Top 25 for five straight seasons now, which is tied with the Florida Gators for #5 in the NCAA when it comes to longest streak of final Top 25 appearances. Last season, they weren't ranked in the preseason Top 25. They creep in at #22 and #20 for two weeks in the middle of the season. Then, at the end of the season, they crept back in the Top 25 at #24 after they beat #8 Pitt in the Backyard Brawl. After they won their next Big East game, the finished the regular season at #18. They finished #25 after they lost to Florida State in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville (basically a home game for Florida State). The coaches poll had them at #22.
